Correct improper scaling of a Program on a 4k TV?

Hi, I'm running my Win 10 pc on a 70" 4K Vizio and I often find that certain programs do not scale properly when running them. Meaning that the program window is too squished to make it usable.

Is there any trick to get these problematic programs to display on a 4K TV?

    Thanks.

the best way for help on this issue is to provide two pictures.
what the program looks like normally on a monitor and what the program looks like on your 4K TV.
screen shots arent necessary, just a photo of each one taken right in front of each monitor device.

    Hi there

Depending on the model go into the HARDWARE menu (i.e use the handset) and there's normally an option somewhere buried within the loads of options on these new TV's that is something similar to "Autoscan" or "Auto re-size".

    That should fix it.

Remember also with some of these 4K TV's DRM rears its ugly head and to play especially DRM'ed streaming content or output from things like SKY Q boxes you need the correct level of HDMI cable -- at least version 2.0 now.

    Cheers

On another site, a poster said this problem isn't fixable as it lies within the software and not the monitor so for now it seems I need to find alternate software that plays well with a 4k display.

Here's a link http://www.danantonielli.com/adobe-a...-displays-fix/, if the software programs are Adobe. The solution also worked, last year, with Auslogics Disk Defrag. It can be a hassle to redeploy the solution after a program update.

A Youtube video by Dan Antonielli may be available for the less-than-technically-literate.
