Need UpdateDll.dll to Install Older Utility

I'm rebuilding my W10 system, and an older utility I use won't install without finding UpdateDll.dll, which is not on my system. I can't find a reference to it on TenForums either, because it parses to Did you mean: Update Dll.dll. Google has lots of websites which claim to supply this, but I'm averse to findng it embeded in "PC Fix" tools, and hidden viruses are also an issue.

Does anyone have a clean copy of UpdateDll.dll which you could make available to myself and others?

    Many thanks.

You would probably have more luck and definitely safer going to the utilities site and getting a new clean copy of any software you are using for it. The .dll would be in there.

What website are you referring to when you say "the utilities site"?

    Where is "...the utilities site..."?

In answer to my post of April 16, 2017, titled "Need UpdateDll.dll to Install Older Utility", indianacarnie replied, in part: "...definitely safer going to the utilities site...". However, he did not tell me where "the utilities site" can be found.

Can anyone please help me identify this site? It sounds like a very useful bookmark to have available.

Google returns several sites with dll available. No idea how safe or valid any of them are, but here's one place: https://dllkit.com/en/dll/update_dll...FYm6wAodxpsEkg

Think he meant by the utilities site, the site that the application or program came from.

Think the obvious question is what program is it that needs it?
I'd be a bit wary with just downloading a dll from one of these online "libraries"as well as risking downloading something nasty, you may find the same name used for dll's with different functions or there are different versions.
From a search on the Web it appears to be often used with PC Magazine Utilities. I'm guessing that's what you are having problems with? Maybe on a cover disk or from the PC Magazine Website in one of their utilities.

You are correct about PCMag's now-defunct utilities website. I was having problems with a version of NoteWhen 3.0 obligingly created for me by its author, Bruno Sonnino. This utility needed UpdateDLL.dll, and Bruno sent me the version he uses, along with a warning about downloading it from .dll websites -- the same warning clam1952 gave me.

So point well taken, and I'll be careful going forward.
