    Skype


    I have Windows 10 pro and I read all over the web that after the last update it is not working.
    It states a dll is missing.

    I was told to install Microsoft visual C++ 2015 redistributable x 64 14.0.24215 which I did to no avail.

    I have 2 questions:
    1-should I remove this redistributable ?

    2-any ideas how to get Skype to work?

    Hi maranna.

    Here is a list of cumulative updates. Indeed the March 14, 2017 did break DVD's. There has been two more Cumulative updates released. KB4015438, which is supposed to fix that issue, seems to be being pushed to users as my machines are now going through that update. (you can check your version, click on Start => Settings => System. Scroll down right hand column to "About"

    If yours hasn't updated you may "Check for Updates". You can also manually download. I would let Windows Update take the first crack.

    I don't think the redistributable will cause you issues.

    I assume you are using the Skype app. You might try uninstalling that single app and reinstalling from store.

    I would create a restore point before doing anything and I would recommend creating an Image using Macrium reflect. Better safe than sorry.

    I believe you can also still download a desktop version of Skype. Again have your restore point and Image. Always want to be able to get back to where you were.

    Thank you so much for all of your work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Skype FROM Skype and it seems fine now.

    By uninstalling and reinstalling I have apparently fixed the Cloud and file explorer syncing.
    Below are the strings I used to get Onedrive working in case anyone is interested.

    %Systemroot%\SysWOW64\OneDriveSetup.exe /uninstall

    %Systemroot%\SysWOW64\OneDriveSetup.exe

    These are the strings to 'run'.
