Calendar Tool does not sync with iPhone 7 Calendar

It appears that when an event is entered on an iphone 7 calendar it appears on the windows 10 calendar. The reverse does not happen;i.e., an event entered on the windows 10 calendar does not appear on the iphone 7 calendar. This was working up to a week or two ago. This is on a Dell XPS8900 desktop. An older Sony laptop with windows 10 appears to work as expected. Noted that the desktop calendar version is 17.8004.42017.0 while the laptop (that works) has calendar version 17.7992.42017.0 which I assume is an older version. Again, this worked on the desktop until a week or two ago. Suspect that the windows 10 mailtool got updated and that broke the process. Is there a fix?

Hi Frank. Welcome to the TenForums @FrankL

It very well could be the program difference but on Tuesday MS had a huge issue which caused all sorts of issues with signing in. I know yours is a syncing issue and its just on one device. My outlook 2013 had no issues, my iphone 6 was was signed out. Another user wasn't getting mail but could send, so lots of different flavors.

You may wish to go to your calendar settings and re-establish them to see if this will click off the syncing to phone. Can I assume you are syncing these all through an outlook.com or hotmail.com account?

Can I ask, when you enter something into your desktop calendar does it show on laptop calendar?

    Hi Ken,

Thanks for the response. Events entered on the Desktop calendar do not appear either on the iphone or the laptop. We're using outlook.com. I'll try what you suggested later. Have to run out for a while.

    Thanks again

    Hi Ken,
Finally figured out the problem. When posting a new event on the Windows 10 calendar, the Event subwindow was defaulting to "Calendar - Microsoft Account". Changed it to "Calendar - Outlook". Things now work as expected. Thanks for the hints.
