Need Photo Gallery prog. to use Movie Maker

I deleted in error the Live Photo Gallery shortcut on my desktop after a notice said it was not available, now I can't find the programme and also can't use Movie Maker even though it's installed. Both these programmes work together.
    Please what is the solution.?
    Thanks.

I've used Movie Maker for a long time and you don't think you need Live Gallery. Just open Movie Maker\File\New project then drag and drop pictures or videos into the work area on the R.
PS; if you only deleted the desktop shortcut, do a Cortana search for Live Photo Gallery. Uninstall would require more interaction from you than just deleting the shortcut from desktop. Install location is C:Prog Files (x86)/Windows Live/Photo Gallery (both p.g & M.M)

Thanks, Photo Gallery is now 'showing up' this morning, must have been some gremlins in the works yesterday. I used Movie maker for my photos, then used Video converter to change the file to AV1 , then burnt them to disc, however the photos are now blurred, would you know what the problem could be please, and is there anyway I can get them back to normal.?
    Thanks.

You can still download both progs from MS here, though support has ended; Live Essentials 2011...
Unfortunately Live Essentials 2011 is no longer available for download from Microsoft. It was replaced by Microsoft Essentials 2012 which has also reached end of support, though (for now) is still available to download. The offline installer would be the best one to download. I too value Movie Maker, so have got the offline installer safely tucked away should I need it. Links here:
Windows Essentials 2012 will reach end of support on January 10th 2017

Edit: Now that's odd - the first time I tried your link it said the page was unavailable. The second time it worked. However, it's a link to the web installer. That relies on the install files being available when the time comes to do an install. If Microsoft take down the 2011 files from their servers the install will fail. The offline installer for Essentials 2012 contains all the install files, so doesn't rely on Microsoft's continuing good will.

@mrgeek, that seems to be the case. I downloaded the web installer for Live Essentials 2011 but it failed to find the files it needs to do the install. Looks like MS has removed them. If you want to keep the install files for Movie Maker handy, then the Essentials 2012 offline installer looks like the only available option now (download it before MS remove that too).

*Bree. You are right. I download it and tried to run with the same result as you. So I deleted link in my orig post. The reason I downloaded in the first place is that I have the orig WL Essentials installer and the size was different. I did try the old one in a Onedrive folder and it still works so if anyone incl the OP wants, they can PM me for a share link. But with Mail and Messenger dead and Onedrive being part of Win10, there's not much other than Photo Gallery/Movie Maker and Writer to install.

It's too bad that Microsoft seems to drop perfectly good projects on a whim. I still miss Microsoft Picture It! and there's no comparable replacement other than bloated Photoshop or something equally complex to learn.

Thanks, Bree. This is the same working Web Installer that I mentioned. I also downloaded the offline installer, to file away for backup.
