WMP 12 has developed a delay playing files

    WMP 12 has developed a delay playing files


    I've had my system up for a good year or more. Win Media player 12 always played songs instantly. I believe since the last Win 10 update it takes upwards of 10 seconds to start playing any song. That makes the end of every song past the end of the app window as well. No other issues, but I have gone so far as to try deleting the LocalAppData folder and letting WMP rebuild everything, to no avail. Does anyone have a solution to this? Please and thanks much, Shep

    Is your library huge? When you open the player does it show "Updating..." in the lower right? If so that may be the issue. Leave it open for a while to let it finish "updating".
