Teamvier 12 - powerfui new feature

A new version of Teamviewer (12) has just been released.

Many of us will use it from a phone or tablet to remotely access and control our PCs

Not many people are aware (even with version 11), you can do it the other way round i.e. access and remote control a phone or tablet by installing Teamviewer Quick Support on the phone/tablet. (I refer to android here - I do not know about Apple)

However, the extent to which a phone or tablet can be remote controlled depends on the manufacturer enabling full remote control (There are Teamviewer Quick Support Addons you need to install for a number of manufacturers Samsung, Sony, Asus (for business customers), Lenovo, HTC, LG, ZTE, Huawei, Alcatel One Touch / TCL and others).

If there is not an addon for your manufacturer, you need to root the phone to get full remote control (you get partial control on a non rooted phone), in which case no addon is needed.

Now the really neat thing with version 12 is that you can fully remote control a phone or tablet (subject to same constraints above) using another phone or tablet (can probably do it from an iphone as well).

Unlike pcs, a phone or tablet cannot be set up for unattended access - it requires user to fire up TV QS and accept incoming connection.

Imagine you are out and a colleague or family friend says he has an issue with their phone or tablet - you can sort it out even if on the other side of the world with your phone/tablet.

There is also a android server app that can give a more seamless experience, (the assistance mode has always been a little restricted) - I've used it from my devices to access a Samsung Tablet and a Sony Phone

TeamViewer Host - Android Google Play

Edit Just had to edit some odd characters from the URL link but it's Google Play . Com so should be fine and no flags when I installed it

This is essentially the same thing - still requires TV QS on handheld android devices, and has same limitation ie it only full remotes to certain manufacturers unless device is rooted. The host module is just a cut down version of the full version.

So, do you mean I able to connect my Android from my PC? Wow, amazing....
