    iTunes Slow to Load

iTunes is taking about 60s to load on my fast SSD based desktop PC when all other programs load within a few seconds. ITunes loads quickly once closed then restarted. I've tried the usual fixes of completely uninstalling & reinstalling iTunes, turning off syncing options & Genius and rebuilding the library to no avail. A Google search shows this is a common problem but the usual fixes mentioned don't work. Any ideas?

    I've tried:
    1. Completely removed iTunes & other Apple software as per Apple guidance https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204275
    2. Reinstalled latest version of iTunes
    3. Turned off all bells and whistles for syncing and updating iTunes library in iTunes options & turned Genius off
    4. Pressed Shift key when starting iTunes to re-indentify the iTunes library
    5. Ran sfc /scannow - no problems

Loads slow for me. Are your data files (music, app backup, etc) on HD? Mine are and that involves a 12 gb load of data before program initiates.

Yes, my files are on a hard disk but I only have c. 1000 tracks. Sometimes iTunes loads fast, sometimes it's slow - go figure.

I've found that if I've just waken windows from sleep or just restarted it, system services eat up processing - including windows cloud and win defender. iTunes takes very long to get any priority. Check Task Manager to see if you have conflicts when iTunes is trying to load.
