Rapid Mode is disabled to install. Last time they did this RM wouldn't enable.

they probably disabled rapid mode due to massive complaints. sorry but if the drive has to steal ram to increase it's speeds something is majorly wrong.

thanks but i just googled. will say rapid mode in the new software makes a HUGE difference:

Ive installed Magician 5, but when I click on System Compatibility it gives a warning saying:
Driver
Intel Corporation 12.8.10.1005
Under the current configuration some functions of magician CANNOT be run. To enable these functions and ensure optimal performance it is recommended you visit the website below and update the driver to the latest version
Downloads for Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology (Intel(R) RST)
However when I download that or the latest version of this software, my system tells me the latest version is already installed.

Rapid mode, SMART and performance benchmark seem to work fine, so I wondered what is the functionality that it says cannot be run. I dont really want to downgrade the RST driver. Are there any other functions or is this just poor prgramming of magician not recognising a later driver

Hahhah, this new version of magician is a joke. Where did all the old features go? ...or do consumers not need anything else than Rapid mode on/off, benchmark, firmware upgrades and SMART info? Now I am not in control of anything anymore.

Magician only works with Samsung's SSDs. You need to download Intel's version from their website.

[SOLVED] I do have Samsung drives installed, not Intel; a Samsung 840 EVO and a Samsung 850. I solved the issue though. I managed to install a later RST and this enabled the Performance Optimization function in Magician.
