Error writing to file when installing software

I am trying to install Macrium reflect. It gets part way through the install process before an error dialog pops up

    Installer Information
Error writing to file: C:\Program Files\Macrium|Reflect\Reflect.exe

I have tried running the installer as Administrator
I have tried going to C: drive security and giving myself full access to eveything
I have tried to access the Administrator account by going to a command prompt and typing net user administrator /active:yes . I get System Error 5 Access denied

    None of these things work

As a side note, I have had a gutsful of Windows 10 always asking me for Admin permissions to do routine stuff like installing software and running exe files. I installed this OS on MY computer, so I ought to have unlimited and unrestricted Administrator access to do anything I like. Why is this not happening?

NOTE: My account information says "Local Account Administrator". Go figure!!

Giving your self full rights won't help as it's an install so it's running as a system install and it's system not you that needs rights. Have you checked the drive for errors as that would also give the error if there is a. Fault

OK, I tried installing Macrium in Drive D: (a separate physical HDD). That worked fine

I uninstalled it, and ran CHKDSK C:. No errors were found

I tried reinstalling in Drive C:\Program Files\Macrium\Reflect- failed with the same error.

Then I tried installing it in C:\Macrium\Reflect - and it worked

It seems I cannot install programs in the Program Files folder
