    An app default was reset. 11/14/16 Problem .file defaults


    I was on my computer last night tell about 2300 PT turned if off for the night/next day. booted it back up around 1700 the next day found about 20 of these (An app default was reset) setting in the notification area. When i click on action center and then on the notification all it does it take me to Windows settings. This happens with all 20 of them but on the little collapse area of the Notificion i see things like .it .wpl .tts .wpa .mts .mpv2 etc etc... what happened over night that i keep getting this?

    Thanks Brink, I did that and i found out that it reverted all my video files (.avi .MKV.ext blah blahs) back to windows app as default. I cant go into VLC>interface>operating system integration>file extensions association and set up association anymore. it tells go to setting default app now. once there i found out i can change one over to another program but cant change the one inside [Choose default apps by protocol] something called movies & TV, it only allows me to pick windows app or search store for an app. Im not just going though all my old files and opening them from now on with VLC and allowing

    In that case, you could try doing a system restore using a restore point dated before this happened since it just recently happened.
