OneDrive keeps crashing, no error message

    Hello,
I'm having trouble with OneDrive, seeing as it launches and ends up crashing after a few seconds, giving me no chance to unlink it or sync my data. I should mention that I have it installed on a permanently inserted SD card seeing as my C:\ is short on space. Don't know if that makes any difference.
I managed to simply delete the folder from the SD card and have OneDrive force itself to enter setup mode when I restarted it and it seemed to work fine, synced all my data once more but then it started crashing again, just like before.

I am using a Microsoft Surface Pro 4, everything is working perfectly except for OneDrive, so I am pretty lost on what to do here - would a system refresh help?

I'm happy to provide more information about the system if needed, hope someone can help me out.
    Thanks for your time!

Hi, yeah well, in a way I did but it's not a "real" solution. If I can't enter the settings to unlink the account, simply deleting the OneDrive folder will also unlink the account, so when you restart OneDrive.exe it will begin the setup process and you will have to re-download everything - sometimes that's enough apparently, but I did not learn this before I had already done a complete format of the system. The problem came back after the format cleared it, so in frustration I just deleted the folder and, to my surprise, I could just re-setup the folder and sync, no need for re-formatting >. >'

So as stated, this is not an actual fix but it does get the job done, haha!
    Hope this helped you :)

I've just installed the AU and I can't configure OneDrive in my main user account -see OneDrive Problem After Anniversary Upgrade

You mentioned solving the problem by deleting the OneDrive folder. Could you please explain in more detail. I tried deleting the OneDrive folder at C:\Users\myname\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneDrive but that contains OneDrive.exe. Did you delete everything but leave OneDrive.exe?

Oh, no I did not touch the folder in the AppData folder, the OneDrive folder I mentioned is the document folder where your items are synced, so there are no program files or .exe in the one I deleted - you're going to need those files to reset the program!

So say OneDrive has your synced docs and pictures in 'Users/Your name/OneDrive/'; that's the folder you want to delete.
When I did this the program had already killed itself several times, meaning it was nowhere to be found in the Task Manager - so when I pressed 'delete' Windows simply did it, no questions asked, and then there was no OneDrive folder left. After that I hit up the Start menu, wrote OneDrive and started the program, which brought up the initial setup window, good as new >. >'

I hope this made sense. Otherwise, I'm happy to elaborate further - it's hard to believe that nobody else seemed to have this problem (I spent a long time searching for answers online and talking to customer support to no avail).

I tried deleting my OneDrive user folder and I also deleted the OneDrive configuration files in C:\Users\Myname\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneDrive. I ran the OneDrive setup program OneDriveSetup.exe in the almost empty folder in AppData but I still get the same error. Onedrive thinks it is registering the same account twice but I can't figure out where it stores this information. Any ideas?

No sorry, that seems odd - any chance a Windows update might repair the program? I never removed any configuration or program files so it's hard for me to give suggestions for this issue : /

There are no updates to apply. This issue started immediately after upgrading to the Anniversary Update - thanks Microsoft.

I'm not giving up that easily. My other thread is a challenge to the forum to find a solution!
