    Question on self running programs

I am new to Windows as I am mainly a Mac user. However, I have a laptop that is gathering dust and I am a fan of participating in distributive programing through BOINC and provide computer support with my Mac when I am not using it. I would like to do the same with the Windows laptop. My problem is that i set up the Mac to wake and sleep each at a specified time during the night to allow BOINC to run. No problems there. So, I wanted to do the same with the Win10 but the task scheduler is a problem for the sleep. So, rather than worry about it, since, I figured I would just set my sleep command for 2 minutes after no activity since I set BOINC to stop at a specified time. But I am afraid this fix is to simple, so, my question, finally, is when BOINC is running in the background, does Windows interpret this action as "computer in use", or is that strictly by keyboard stroke or mouse movement. And if that is the case, is there a simple way around it? Sorry for being so long winded. Thanks for any help.

Hi, I think you may be asking 'How do I create a task to be run when the computer is in sleep mode?'.

The bottom option (available from 'Create task') should let you do that.
