    Traditional Sticky Notes

    Hi Windows 10 Forums,

I use the old traditional Win32 sticky notes (StikyNot.exe) very frequently, and it works perfectly for me. The new Windows 10 Sticky Notes (Metro/Universal) in Anniversary Update are huge in terms of screen real estate and I deleted it by deleting all metro apps through Windows Powershell. I decided to install Windows 10 Anniversary through a clean install, so I couldn't retrieve the old sticky notes from Windows.old. I tried copying files from my Windows 7 install, but it didn't work. Please help as this old application helps keep my work organized all the time.

I am using Windows 10 Anniversary Update (14393.105) 32-bit. I personally don't see the need to the Universal Windows platform and I exclusively still use Win32 apps. I personally would love to ditch Windows 10 and return to Windows 7 or 8.1

    Thank you,
    Matthew

Forgive the obvious- have you tried any of the various freeware sticky notes offerings? You'd be better to go with sthg that is current and maintained.

One such option is Stickies by Tom Revell (zhornsoftware.co.uk) - download directly from his site.
I have used this little program for many years on platforms from XP(32-bit) to 10(64-bit).
    100% trouble-free in my experience.
It's not fancy, but it does what it says and says what it does.
The current version is 9.0(c), but I prefer the older 8.0(c) version for a few minor, aesthetic reasons.
Either one will run fine on Win10.
    Developer is very responsive.

    Handy little productivity app.

    Cheers,
    MM
