hi, guys
i have a DVD that teaches me how to play a guitar song, eg ( sweet child of mine/ guns and roses)
ok, there is one audio track on the DVD that i want to burn to a CD,
how do i burn this track from DVD to CD?

There may also be a program around somewhere that will allow "ripping" the audio from the CD.
My method (I'm a musician and have a recording studio) is to play the video and record the sound at the same time.
First question, does your PC have "Stereo Mix" (you will need that).
If you have Stereo Mix, you will also need an audio recording program such as the free (and popular) Audacity.
Then, using Audacity you record the audio as the DVD is playing. Save the Audacity audio file as a wav file. You can then burn an audio CD of the wav file.
Here is my Sound Panel/Recording Section showing the Stereo Mix.
I use Total Recorder set to record anything that can be heard in the speakers/headset. They have several choices.
Purchase High Criteria Products, Total Recorder - captures any audio from the Internet, records audio from CD, microphone, line-in, converts any sound formats to WAVE file. Phone recording system.
^^^^ free and ubiquitous Audacity or EAC can do all that nearly or just as well even with sound activation as anything$$ that you can buy including $$$$ professional production DAWS we have here a that are usually only WAV files outside of a sound editor/recorder like Audacity or EAC free file conversions or a professional sound editor anyway .

FWIW I've chopped ,meta data tagged and edited files (mixes) in Audacity/Lame in here outside of the studio for commercial CD's /mp3 and downloads when its busy in there or I just felt like doing it in here ,that free program aint as pretty as the $$ ones but it ain't no joke and EAC probably is easier to use and with good results also
OP You can use Free EAC or free Audacity to record audio from your stereo line in or the web or a disk in your combo drive or a file playing or imported to a project on your PC and make whatever media format file you want to export at 16/44 for a CD,or FLAC,WAV,MP3,ALAC, AAC or whatever
note : I would put EAC high on the list below for consumers .

VLC can rip audio tracks from a DVD. And there are many free tools available that can do it. Just search the internet for "tool to extract dvd audio" or some similar keywords. If you got Nero, the Recode application does a good job in extracting DVD audio.
Although I use Sonar Platinum in my recording studio, I use Goldwave audio editor. Goldwave will also record, but I didn't mention it as its not a free program.
I thought VLC could maybe do all that and now that you brought it up and confirmed all that ,free VLC would be ideal without all the drama of sound editor just for voice sound track ripping and maybe the OP wouldn't need a stereo mixer as well . VLC is da bomb for what it does and playing DVD media and media files in general or with various codecs nothing else will play and a must have program IMO .
OP doesn't need all that or any $ software to rip an audio track from a DVD
OP you can use Windows or WMP or the must have IMG Burn ( free) to build and burn an RBCD file format to CD from your ripped 16/44 sound track . ,
OTOH if you want separate RCBD tracks / labels and or meta data you will have to chop it up in a sound editor and label /tag it and put in the sound breaks or the 2 sec. default . AFAIK VLC cannot burn CD's

how i fixed my problem of burning a audio track from a DVD to a CD, was download VLC media player, VLC as tools to do what i wanted,
then to burn the files from VLC to cd , i then used windows media player,
