    Hi:

The site itself might be clean, but the installer file might not be.
No, MBAM does not block domains or sites just because they are in China.
If MBAM is blocking a website URL or domain or IP, it's for a reason.

I'm not sure I'm clear - what is MBAM blocking? What type of notification do you get?

    • The company/download site (if so, you would get an IP block notice and would be unable to access the page)?
    • Something malicious on that website, such as malvertising (in which case, the web page will load, but you will get an IP block notice while on the page)?
    • Or the setup file itself (in which case MBAM will block running of the executable)?

It would help if you could please ATTACH as a *.txt file (not a *.xml file) the relevant MBAM PROTECTION log here to your next reply (let us know if you need help locating and exporting the log).

Otherwise, I suggest filing a F/P report at the MBAM F/P forum and perhaps with Norton.
Since BOTH applications flag this, it seems unlikely to be a F/P, but it's possible.

    Thanks,
    MM

    Hi:

I am not familiar with the software in question, but if both MBAM and Norton flag it, that would be suspicious.
It could be that they are hitting on bundled PUPs, wrappers or other crap, not the executable itself.

You can upload the executable to virustotal, jotti or a similar service.
And, if you think the MBAM detection might be false positive, you may wish to submit the requested information (zipped executable & a virustotal or similar analysis link) to the MBAM file detections F/P forum HERE.
The Research Team will review the data to determine if it is or is not a F/P.

There's nothing wrong with Leawo Blu-Ray Player. I have been using it on more than one computer for some time now. There are such things as false positives. Now if it was downloaded from a third party site it maybe infected. I download from here. Best Free Blu-ray Player Software for Windows - Leawo Free Blu-ray Player

Maybe not too strange. Domain name registrations can be pretty cheap, the bigger cost comes from having them hosted if they can't do it in-house. That may compare favorably against having to pay download sites to host their program. Bandwidth is an important factor in providing downloads and having more than one site could lessen the impact.
