    Start menu

Using build 10074 I cannot get any program to run at windows startup. I can see the prog in Startup folder and in 'Run' in the registry.
    Suggestions please.

Welcome davy. Was this an upgrade install, or clean install? Sometimes an upgrade install can carry some bugs forward. Recommend doing a clean install.

Or install Classic Shell to temporarily replace your start menu just until the next build is released.
Programs run on Classic Shell start menu even though they are "dead" on the native start menu.

Nothing happens after install of Classic Menu.
Out of interest I was trying to get either Firefox or Google Earth to run at startup. Though both progs will run perfectly from a desktop icon, after startup they both suggest that various .dll's are missing. What this means I have no idea.
As I am using a spare machine, tomorrow I will do a disc wipe, a new download and a clean install. Will relay the outcome.

    That's interesting.
With issues like that, you gotta have to do Dude's suggestion. Try another clean install.

Supprise, supprise. A disc wipe and a clean install would appear to have solved the problem. I tried it with both 32bit and 64bit installations and both worked.
What happened first time around I have no idea.

    Dude,
This not a complaint. As I was born in 1934 the title of Junior Member sits well with me.
