Can't connect to Mysql2 server on localhost 3000

I am trying for the first time to open this server and having no luck. I have checked my task manager and it is running and have also logged into mysql2. I am trying to take a course Ruby on Rails and this is my first assignment! Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. thank you in advance

Welcome to the forum how are you trying to login are you sure it's on that port and is the firewall open can you login with 127.0.0.1?

I ended up changing my port to 3306 and got it opened. However it didn't look anything like it is suppose to. I have to wonder if mysql is installed right I guess. I have been on the sublime text forum because I am having issues with that software too. That is what has directed me to this forum, wondering if its the win 10. That's now 2 different software issues, and I am a beginner..... thanks
