Duplicate Pictures/Files finder
Hi,
Can anybody recommend a Free Duplicate Pictures/Files finder for Windows.....?
I have read reviews for some products, but they all contradict each other, very confusing.
Thanks,

I suppose how the files are organized will determine one's 'success'.
I have used awesome photo finder, a portable in zip format. Although dated (2012), it runs on Windows 10.
Everything (2014) is great for finding same filenames. Available columns will determine whether the files are identical. This, too, is available in portable zip format.
I tried a couple of free programs but instead went with Easy Duplicate Finder mainly because it will search WITHOUT using file names, gets duplicates even when the file names are different. It's slower but quite effective.
Hi there
I KNOW this is a windows Forum but the only decent program I've found able to do this is kdiff3 on Linux.
Can compare files in directories (what's in A and not in B, what's in B and not in A, and what's in both), can merge to 3rd directory, can compare file contents (binary / Ascii) etc --incredibly flexible and useful program. Loads of other options too.
Sometimes it IS worth learning another OS - there are really good tools available you won't find in Windows.
Note the Converse is true - I have some great stuff in Windows that isn't available in Linux too.
Best way so you don't hose up your Windows system is download a Live Linux OS (no install required) Linux Mint is the most windows like, or install as a Virtual Machine. Networking always seems to work straight out of the box on Linux so sharing HDD's for running the comparison won't be a problem.
