When I cut text in word it is not there when I want to paste it. I can copy and paste but then need to go back and delete the text I've just copied. I've had windows 10 since April and I'm sure I've been able to do it before but I can't today. I've gone through the advanced options but can't seem to find anything which applied to cut and paste. Help.
Sorry the maybe a bit stupid question, but if you are using keyboard shortcuts to cut, are you sure you use the correct key combination? To cut is CTRL + X.

Hello Kari, I always use right click whenever I cut and paste. I've been doing it that way for years and never had a problem until now. I tried doing it the keyboard way but that didn't work either. The problem seems to be that nothing appears on the clipboard - I've checked it. It should store up to 24 things but there is nothing there. I can copy and paste, but only until I do something else as it is not retained on the clipboard. I got windows 10 in April and this has only just happened. Thanks.
I have Office 2010/Word 14 on Win10 and can Cut and Paste but I click the little down right arrow beside the word Clipboard on the Home tab [under the word Paste on the left end of the ribbon] to assure when I have used Cut or Copy that it's there.
Thank you to those who replied. Mysteriously it has now re-appeared and is working properly. However there when I posted the request for help nothing appeared on the clipboard, either when I copied or cut. But today it does.
