Hey Craig, notice in my screenshot in last post it say's to install, not installed?
If that's how apps that are not UWP are going to work, how are updates going to work?
A notice there is on in the store when there is one?

I'm in the dark as much as you Cliff, I may have to do an update to the Store app and see if it updates automatically - I doubt it will as it always shows as "Install" in the Store app even after it has been installed.

This feature is not really fully developed yet, I suppose. Perhaps there will be an update to bring it closer to UWP apps soon.

    Superfly,

I know that everyone says it's impossible to change the scrollbars colors, as there are no working controls for that in the Win10 GUI or the registry. However, I came across this bit:
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/win...rs-and-metrics

So, if you somehow manage to use the GetSysColors and SetSysColors functions, it might work ...?
It's a long shot, as they state that it can only control the scroll bar shaft, not the thumb (the part that moves).
And I'm really after changing just the thumb color of Win10's scroll-bars.

I generally use Win10's dark theme, and the scrollbars thumbs are stuck with this gray color, which is not very visible in certain conditions. That's why I'm asking...

    (Fingers-crossed)

The problem with SetSysColors is that it does not persist after the app. is closed

Meaning I will have to spawn a service from SMACC that maintains those colours from the registry (i.e. as set within SMACC) - so that it sticks even when SMACC itself is not running - otherwise the defaults take over.

I too don't see a Thumb setting within Scrollbar.

Interesting concept, however, I have some conceptual design in mind - will work on it over the weekend.

    What is desk.cpl?
    I only find MUI's and C:\Windows\SysWOW64\desk.cpl -- C:\Windows\System32\desk.cpl
If it's just the control panel, then he needs to use high contrast to make any changes, just like with file explorer.

He's probably talking about the old display properties, like in Windows XP, which had the Themes and Appearance tabs: windows - What is the purpose of desk.cpl? - Super User

There is a version here that works in Windows 10. I doubt if it works in Windows 8.

Changing the Color of the Context Menu & it's Font

Changes can be hard to undo.

Author's post is here. A slightly different version.
