    Windows 10 Pro (64 bit)

I've got office 365, Mine is on auto update (is that compulsory?) but mostly I check it manually via update now. I always worry that it will be in the midst of an auto update in the background when I choose to shutdown the machine and cause corruption. So I figure regular manual checks minimises that risk. What would happen in a scenario like that? Does it just pick up where it left off when you next turn on and log in?

I think it would act the same as a normal update it would tell you not to shut down your computer
Once done it would probably shut it down once finished but I am like you.
I make sure I close down once it has finished installing that way there can be no corrupt or messed up files
If it shut down on its own then when you start up it would hopefully carry on where it left off

Yep, folks forget (or never knew) that Office 365 isn't on Windows Update any more.

I think it will eventually update, but I'm not sure. Every so often I find it telling me an update is ready.

Thanks, HT. I checked earlier and it said I'm up to date. But . . . I just checked and it's downloading.
