I am saying that the Classic Shell start menu doesn't show live tiles. And for the moment there are not plans to add such functionality. The OS does not provide any ability for 3rd party software to access the tile information. So the start menu only shows a list of Apps, but no animated tiles for them.
You can always use the built-in start menu/screen to view the tiles.
Ok so what you are saying is that if i click on the start screen button in classic shell that brings up the OS start Menu?
Yes, however people are reporting that this is not working with the leaked build 10056.
The Classic Shell is designed to bring back the classic start menu that we loved from Windows 7 which never had live tiles.
If you are looking for live tiles, stay with the native Win 10 start screen which is also still available as an option inside the classic shell start menu.
I would never want to see live tiles on Classic Shell. That would be a separate distro if ever... a "Modern Shell".
I like the Live tiles. I have classic shell on 8.1 so i can have a start menu but i like that it gives the option to go to the modern screen. I assume Microsoft will screw up the start menu in windows 10 and it won't be nearly as customizable as classic shell
I tried it and it worked for me on this build. But I went back to the default. I do not usually tweak a pre- release OS.
