It is just a path that I have always taken since I Beta tested Vista and Seven. We are provided this preview to test as is and not to tweak it. If one finds a problem how are you to know if the user caused it or it was a bug?

The entire start screen concept does not "work" for me since Win 8 so I don't spend too much time with it. I just replace the start screen right away with classic shell. I am not interested with the native start screen to begin with so I just always skip it. Besides, with classic shell, you don't actually remove it. It's still there.

In fact, classic shell has become one of the way I test Win 10. I always check if Classic Shell works with Win 10 and notify @Ivo if there is a problem. :)

The start screen shortcut on Classic Shell 4.2.1 doesn't work at the moment for build 10056. It doesn't matter to me but for some maybe it does. :)

    • New setting to change the user picture
    • Improved support for touch and high resolution displays
    • Added support for Scottish, Catalan, Macedonian and Persian languages

This application makes a really big difference in Windows 10 for me. I do not know why I didn't start using it a long time ago. This makes me really want to upgrade to Windows 10!

Hmm.. you do know that it's not necessary to upgrade to Win10 when you can use ClassicShell with Win8.1.1 and practically have the same OS.

I know but I have Windows 7 and I can upgrade to Windows 10 for free so I really don't want to purchase Windows 8.1.

There are many reasons to get the latest OS beyond the look of it. There are many under the hood improvements that are not seen but are much more meaningful than a start menu
