Windows 10 feedback with "LOCAL ACCOUNT"

apparently there is no way to send feedback with a Local account,.
I refuse to have an account where I log into the cloud each time I use many of my windows 10 systems.

Have you noticed that WINDOWS 10 keeps resetting your default programs.
    JUST BECAUSE IT WANTS TO

Default Browser - I use firefox
Default photo viewer - I use Irfanview or Picasa
Default video viewer - I use VLC
    etc etc

These keep getting reset and since I use local accounts I can find now way to tell MS that I hate having to keep resetting these in the default settings.

Just did it again about an hour after I reset them.
I need to stop this. Any clue's out there for how to stop this?

Doesn't reset mine. They are the same now as when I set them after install TH2.

Are you using Control Panel, Default Programs to set them? If not, try it.

Microsoft: Just because you keep resetting my default apps

doesn't mean that you are going to convince me to use your undone applications. My default apps are being reset every hour on my windows 10 systems. And I can't complain directly because I have "Local" accounts rather than logging into your cloud.. Stop trying to tell me how to use my systems. I'm a professional who has used computers for 40 years.

    Your apps aren't done yet:
Photos? Compare with Picasa or Irfanview
Browser? Compare with chrome or firefox.
Videos? Compare with VLC. No, I don't want to sign up for your video service. Thanks very much.

Leave my defaults alone when I set them.
I installed your windows 10. Now leave me alone. Just keep it up to date for security flaws and stop the continual "Up-Sell". I'm sick of it.
I know how to use Linux and do so wherever I can.

What exactly are you trying to say by this?

In order to send feedback through Windows Feedback app you have to log into the Freedback app using an online account. This is natural and this is expected.

However, you don't have to convert your local Windows account into an online account. Your Windows account remains local, you just log into the Feedback app (and only into Feedback app) using an online account.

That's how all apps that require login work. They give you a choice of either 1) converting your entire Windows user account into an online account, or b) keeping your Windows user account local and using online account just for specific apps.

Lets make this clear. Your problem is not Windows, is not a bug in Windows. You have something that is running in the background that is making these changes. It is NOT normal for these settings to be reverting every hour. What you should be doing is finding what is causing this issue to happen, instead of complaining about something completely unrelated.

I was quite sure that MS thinks this sort of behavior is not a bug, but a feature. This is in keeping with the recent nonsense around the forced Windows 10 upgrades that have been in the news.
Seriously? Malware that sets the default apps back to the Windows 10 default apps?
Well it seems to me that Windows 10 Defender would have no reason to remove that one.
I have no idea even where to begin looking for that one. Recall it's not just the app for one set of file types, but many at once. Any help would be appreciated. Or some regedit policy edits that make this nonsense go away, more likely. I'm sure enterprises don't have to put up with this happening. I have several systems on Win10 and they all do this on varying schedules. But I'm only infuriated by the one that I use all the time.

Just to catch everyone else up. Yes, every time this happens I use cortana to search for Default Applications and use the new windows 10 control panel to set them the way I want. And then sometime later, yesterday it was on every hour or so at least, alerts begin popping up saying that default programs were set. and back they go to the defaults.

I agree. From my understanding and experience you have to be logged into your MS account so you can be identified as a valid user of 10 before you submit any feedback. And this applies to all paths.

This can only happen with an update from MS and that's been addressed in the latest insider builds So that will not be an issue after 7/29.

Are you using a local or MS account when this occurs??
And is this occurring after a KB update for a cumulative update??

I've been using Windows 10 since the middle of last year and my default programs are the same now as they were when I set them. FWIW, Chrome is my default browser although I occasionally use Windows Explorer.
