WIN 10 Compatibility with MS Money 2003
Hi Folks:
I am presently running WIN8.1x64 on a DELL desktop XPS8700, and am considering changing to the current version of WIN10.
Last week, an overnight, auto upgrade/download to WIN10 was done on my machine; however, I did not agree to Legalize and reverted back to WIN8.1. I did this because I had experienced two problems last year when running WIN10 on this machine:
- MS MNY2003 would not work due to its requirement of having IE6 installed.
- My Microsoft Account Profile became corrupted, for an unknown reason, and I was not able to logon to my machine.
Last year, Problem #1. was resolved by doing a registry hack (see https://techjourney.net/microsoft-money-requires-internet-explorer-6-to-function-properly-error-in-windows-10/ for detailed info on that regedit procedure).
Unfortunately, Problem #2. was not resolved; forcing me to do a DELL factory reset to WIN8.0; not a pleasant experience.
Now that I am working my courage up to try using WIN10, my question with regard to my previous Problem #1. is:
Does anyone know if the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE registry hack is still usable under WIN10 to change the IE version to be: 9.11.10240.0, thereby allowing me to continue to use MS MNY2003 ?
Regards,
VinceB.
