I too am a fan of Classic Shell. You can configure it to use both classicshell on left button and win 10 menu on the middle mouse button so you have both. I would uninstall it then reinstall.
Now who's up for some different start buttons. Should we start a Start Button thread?

I have used Classic Shell on many fresh installs of Windows 10. 32 bit or 64 bit. without having to run the app as admin. This is the first thing I do when I install or update Windows 8, 8.1 or 10
Right click the Classic Shell.exe shortcut and choose Properties/Compatibility tab, put a check in Run This Program As Administrator.
Do not run the start menu as administrator. It may fail to start automatically on login, and some features won't work.
Classic Shell is designed to run as the current non-elevated user. If it needs admin access it will ask for it.

I just upgraded a machine today and it has been disabled, and when I try to reinstall it, it says that it won't work on this version of Windows 10. Classic Shell is still working on prior upgrades from several months ago.

For insider versions of Windows 10 you need to use Classic Shell 4.2.7 beta.

Does that mean I will need to upgrade to CS 4.2.7 from 4.2.5 after the Anniversray Upgrade on 2nd Aug and will it not be a beta version by then?

Only Ivo can tell you that. But it's so easy to install 4.2.7 over 4.2.5, takes just moments. Should not be a concern. BTW, I'm running 4.2.7 on one of my current (10586) builds.
