    Hi, Mike,

I did have to mount the ISO file, but I have already dismounted it. Here is the drop-down.

Name:	ISO File.png
Views:	2
Size:	60.6 KB
ID:	74320

When I attempt to move it in this state, I get the following message:

Name:	File In Use.png
Views:	8
Size:	14.6 KB
ID:	74321

I interpret this to mean that the file is in use somewhere. Any thoughts?

I am having an issue with Macrium Reflect, too. (The Rescue Media created fine, but my first attempt at creating a full image resulted in the error "Backup aborted! - Volume Snapshot Failed for Volume - F:" Volume F seems to be the NTFS volume.)

Thanks again for all your help...

    Charlie

try logging into safe mode and then delete the iso...see if that works.....also why you are having problems with Macrium....file is open.
If booting into safe mode don't work....we will have to try booting from a usb drive with another program. but 1st try safe mode.

    Hi, Mike,

I read in a post somewhere that simply rebooting could eliminate the problem with Macrium, so I did so, and it worked. The backup completed successfully. But maybe that was because I made sure all other applications were closed before attempting the backup.

I will try safe mode to move the ISO, as you say it might be useful to have in the future.

Thanks again for all your help. Sorry I seem to have become your personal albatross!

    Thanks,
    Charlie

Ok Charlie, one more thing you should do is make a bootable Macrium Rescue disk, on a usb flash drive. This way you will have access to your backup image files, if you can't boot into windows. Just keep it for any emergency that might happen. This feature is listed under Other options in your Macrium main page.

    Hi, Mike,

Booting into Safe Mode allowed me to move the ISO file, which I will save, as you recommended. Every one of your suggestions has worked, and I have been able to resolve the original problem, which has plagued me in one form or another for months. I just want to say I really appreciate all your help.

I made a Macrium Rescue Media, but I made it on CD. The documentation said that you could use CD, DVD or USB drive. I happened to have CDs, so I used them. I assume that would be OK as opposed to the flash drive? I understand you need the Rescue Media to regain control of the laptop in the event of some failures; otherwise, there is no point to making the image.

    Thanks again,
    Charlie

That's Great Charlie !! Very glad that everything worked out too. Its fine to use your CD if that's a better choice for you.
Glad I could help you....that's what we are all here for. Take Care Charlie
