Office 365 home, freeing up an installation

we have office 365 home. I know you can install it on 5 different machines. Currently we have it on two machines. One of which I am thinking of selling. So if I uninstall office on this machine will that free up a slot or is the fact I installed it forever linked and I won't get that slot back? Hope that makes sense.

With this his in mind what is the best way to de-register a PC with office 365. Through the add/remove programs uninstaller or is there a better way?

    thanks,
    Wayne

You can deactivate an install of Office 365 from your 'My Office Account' online and then uninstall it from your PC in the normal way via Control Panel.

Sheltieuk is correct. If you deactivate Office 365 on the computer you free up that slot. If You do sell the computer make sure to securely delete any personal info. I use a program called Eraser. What I would do is remove the HDD and connect it to your other computer. Then I would erase the entire HDD. Be carefull not to erase anything on the HDD with the operating OS. Then I would install the HDD back into the computer and do a clean install of Windows 10 with out activating or accessing your MS account.
