Microsoft Word 2002 and Windows 10

I have an HP Pavilion Slimline s5704y and Windows 7. I've been using Microsoft Word 2002 and am wondering what happens if I upgrade to Windows 10. Does anyone have experience with this? Will I still be able to open my old documents?
    Thank you for any help.

Which versions of Microsoft Office are officially supported Windows 10?

The following versions of Microsoft Office with the latest Service Packs have been confirmed to be compatible with Windows 10:

    • Office 2016 Preview
    • Office 2013/Office 365
    • Office 2010 (exception Office Starter 2010)
    • Office 2007

Older versions of Office such as Office 2003 and Office XP are not certified compatible with Windows 10 but might work using compatibility mode.

I have one Win10 computer with Office 2000 installed and the basics I need seem to be okay. But if I didn't want to spend money I'd go with LibreOffice, free at Home | LibreOffice - Free Office Suite - Fun Project - Fantastic People. Actually, even with Office installed I put LibreOffice on all my computers, the only apps that have no direct equivalent are Outlook and Publisher.

EDIT: I should have mentioned this computer is running the latest Insider Preview version of Win10.
