itunes will not install on win10

Just updated Win7 to Win10 and tried to install iTunes but, I get the message "This app cant run on your PC"

I download the iTunes for my PC (itunes6464.exe).

contacted Apple but they were worthless and told me to contact MS...

That should be a good thing!

Stupid question, but are you definitely running a 64 bit version of Windows 10? The download could also be corrupt.

Yep, I'm looking at the control panel-> system settings and it says

System type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

I also downloaded the iTunes install program many times and it always fails.

What about right-clicking on the installer and choosing "Run As Admin"? You can also try clearing out your temp files.

Apple are the most unhelpful arrogant entity I've ever had the displeasure to deal with. They think they can do no wrong. 'It just works' is the biggest lie ever. Problem is I like their phones, they dump on MS offerings from a great height. But it doesn't make me like them anymore.

anyway onto the topic at hand. Do you have other Apple software already installed such as Bonjour, Safari, iCloud control panel? It prob won't help but often the advice when encountering an iTunes issue is to uninstall the other products and start again.

I have absolutely know Idea what is wrong with your install. I am using Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview Evaluation copy.Build 14295.rs_release.160318-1628, and the iTunes install was effortless. I will proceed to uninstall it just as soon as I post.

Double check you haven't got any of these in your programs list, I know you say no Apple software installed but there maybe some less than obvious ones. You just want to ensure your starting on a clean slate entirely Apple free before trying again

Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows 7 and later - Apple Support

    try a direct download link

this app cant run on your pc | Apple Support Communities

And this is an interesting link, suggests the download is not fully completing in some cases. Maybe try downloading the setup file in a different browser to the one your using
