Jeff
just wanted to wake up this thread; I have a full office 2013 install working great on 10130, and wanted to ask you guys if you think I should dump that for the 2016 preview version, or keep my perfectly working 2013 version...I know you cant run both of them together, so I wanted to see what you guys thought/did under the same conditions...
thanks!
Well if 2013 is working good for you, stick with it. In my opinion they are not much different.
yeah, thats what I kinda thought..
thanks!
Once the Office 2016 Technical Preview is over, most likely to continue using it, you will have to subscribe.
The cost for a subscription runs $99.00 per year for Home Premium and can be installed on 5 computers and 5 tablets. An individual subscription for one computer is $69.xx. I think the cheapest business subscription is $150.00 for the same number of computers and tablets as Home Premium. Of course, you'll get ongoing updates and new features as well as support for 2016.
So, if you don't want to subscribe, then by all means, stick with 2013. Especially if you don't need any more bells and whistles than you have now. :)
Arrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh!
Let's add a little more confusion to the Office mix! I just got an email telling me I have to upgrade (or change) Skype!
Hello nlraines,
It's time to upgrade to an even better Skype experience on your Windows 8 device. Your current version of Skype is being replaced by an app called Skype for Windows desktop. It has more features to help you stay in touch like screen sharing and group video calling. Also, your chat conversations (from the last 30 days) and all your contacts will appear as normal after upgrading.
Important: From 7 July, 2015 you'll no longer be able to sign into the current Skype app you have. To continue using Skype, simply download the new version today.
So, does this mean for the very simple personal Skype or does it mean the Skype included in Office 365 for Business?
