i was really asking (how to install) and still get updates. i had read some where that updates were messed up after installing it in win10

Once you get a Windows update, like a major version, and WMC no longer works, you have to uninstall it, then reinstall it.

Where can I get WMC?

here is where i got it for win10 on my older(dead) laptop after installing i was not able to get the 1511 update, and also my older machine died i don't think its related but you never know i bought a new machine in feb with win 10 pre installed and got it up to 1511 all is good but i don't want to dork my machine if/when there is a major update and it won't take because of the media center install

I don't want to upset anyone by mentioning a different forum so I pmed you.

That link from Windows Central no longer works. Probably forced to take it down.

That version is not the current version anyway. The real install files are with the forum which created it. It is currently at version 12.

Anyone wishing to have WMC on Windows 10 should look at this forum. This is where it is being developed.
