    Start
    All Apps
    Photo Gallery and open it
    Along the top
    You can see people tagged
    Batch People Tagged
    Descriptive Tag
    Click on that one
    Up will come
    Tag an item
    Manage Tag
    Unused Tag
Hope that is something you are looking for
This is the program that falls over every time I start it.

Have found the Lightroom Import does exactly what I need there.

So I have a choice of learning some new software to do the tagging, or learning how to do it with Lightroom. I'll try the LR method first.

    Use Lightroom Import.
Sounds like you have found what you need.
    Happy computing.

I really don't get how what browser or search engine you use would make an old, pre-Edge app fall over. I have a horrible feeling it's something to do with one of the drivers, probably the video driver.

    Oriental slave,

    1. Check to see if Compatibility mode is enabled.
Search box, type photo gallery > right click at it > Open File Location > right click at Photo Gallery shortcut > Properties > Compatibility tab at the top > under Compatibility mode heading, did you have the box checked: " Run this program in compatibility mode for "?
If yes, UN-check it > click OK when done.

    2. If the above is not applicable, have a look at this article.
It is for Win 7, but it might still be applicable to Win 10.

Yes it could be also if so where did you get the driver from.
The reason I ask is I have installed a driver updater from Auslogics that runs and takes care of any of out of date drivers, and it finds them from the genuine sites.
None of them are from Microsoft

    Oriental slave,

What if you create another user account with exactly the same privileges as the one you are now using.
    Logon to it.
    Install Windows Essentials 2012
See if Photo Gallery works correctly in the new account ?

Not wanting to faff with another user account, though I can see where you are coming from. The one I am using is only a few days old.

Not going to install drivers from an unknown to me source.

Updating my video driver didn't help.

Think it best I stick with Lightroom and learn to drive it better.

    Have it your way.
Just to remind you that there is a possibility you have a corrupted user account. Hence my suggestion of creating a new one.
It does not hurt to make sure.

    Anyway, happy computing.
