Windows 10: Clear "New" status for all Installed Apps in Start Menu
Clear "New" status for Installed Apps+Adding New Shortcuts to All Apps
Real quick. Just installed Win10, and installed all the programs.
So I have a bunch of "New" programs. Is there a quick way to clear New, without having to open every single program?
Can't seem to find an option or anything on google about it.
Also, I go to add more shortcuts to the Start Menu (All Apps List).
I go to both locations here:
%appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu (which goes to C:\Users\[Login]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs)
But whenever I copy a Shortcut for this one particular program (HexChat) into those locations, it just pins the shortcut to the tile area of the Start Menu, and not in the All Apps list.
It is actually weird, because the first shortcut I added was added to the All Apps list just fine.
Edit: Seems to be only this one program, HexChat

Not that I'm aware of. You don't have to open all the programs though, what I do is just go down the 'All Apps' list and right-click on the ones that say 'New', which get's rid of their 'New' status.
that sure worked! thanks
I used to be able to right-click on the "Recent" icon on the start menu and see an option to clear the recent files list. Now it's gone. The "Recent" icon is still there and still functions properly and lists recently opened files, but the "Clear"...

I have read everywhere on how to change the start menu width, however what I am asking for does not seem to be covered anywhere. When I open the "All Apps" section of the start menu to get to my installed programs I am unable to distinguish between...
I wonder if there is a way (through editing system files or registry) to change Windows 10 Start Menu "All apps" to something else like "My Programs". Also where is the icon file located in the system and how to change the default icon.
Hi, I'm having an issue and I'm wondering if anyone else has any ideas on what to do about it.
Some desktop apps are missing from the "All apps" section of the Start menu. Most programs are there, but I'd say 10-15% are missing. Apps that are...
