All Win10 apps appear and immediately disappear, the STORE too?

Somewhere in the last few updates my Win 10 apps went wonky. I have used Classic Start Menu for years so it looks more like the old XP desktop. Yeah, I was sorry to XP go. But I've moved on. I bought this HP as an 8 and seamlessly several years ago went to 10 and I receive all the updates to this day. So again, seems I missed what update it was. I take it after one update something went awry. As I said they pop on and off immediately. The Windows Store does this too.

I was amazed to get help here recently after asking and waiting for months on the MS Forums. No help there. Hopefully someone has the help again here. And Thanking you Much in advance!

And BTW I can't seem to find where/how in my profile to change the name I use. It's only one letter off, I guess I typed by mistake. Is this allowed?

Hi is this what you mean?
Change User Name of Account in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials

If you mean the name of your user profile folder, that's another matter (see different tutorial - you're free to search...)

    You could try re-registering apps.
Reinstall and Re-register Apps in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials
    - but also search the forum for any similar cases.

Some similar cases were solved by an upgrade, so an in-place upgrade repair install may help which keeps all progs, data and most settings.

When I ran PowerShell with the command given at the link you supplied I get this.

dalchina I am trying the command [[ dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth ]] it is running and it says it could take maybe 10 to 15 minutes. Maybe it will help. The other above says thing like Cannot find parameter, Has to be run on a higher command prompt and a few other things that say it's not going to run the command you see in the image.

    Hey jackdashack,
Looking at your screen shot it looks like you might have double pasted the command ???

    Code:
    Get-AppXPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

If you pick a command from that tutorial, make sure you follow the instructions at the top of the relevant section.

thanks Eagle51. I see that but not sure how it happened. As you can see here it happened again. Pasted once, when I hit ENTER it shows it 2x? Everytime I saw it pasted it was only 1 time. Here's how it went down most times I tried. Also my PowerShell on the start menu has 4 options. Image below

    HIT ENTER

START MENU OPTIONS FOR POWERSHELL. Which should I use?

Thanks dalchina! The selection I chose said to use Run as Admin. I did and again this . . . I still believe and update did this. It says something in this image about a possible corrupt file. You know something just occurred to me. Paint works fine. Isn't Paint and app that Win10 provides?

Remove Classic Start Menu, this sort of meddling with the Windows 10 system always has side effects. Try and do without it, really move on...

Then go to the MS Store and update all Apps.
Recently I had about 30 of these, maybe 40+ in the last week, quite likely in preparation for the forthcoming version update.

Signs of this included darkening and odd things with the Start Icons.

Alternatively use Settings > Udate & Security > Troubleshooter > Windows Store Apps.

You rarely need to go in to all this command line stuff.
