Windows 10 applications crashing intermittently when accessing files.

    Hi,

I got a new laptop in December 2015 that came with Windows 10. It is currently running version 1511 10586.104. I have updated the BIOS and graphics driver, all are current from the mfg. I have had an ongoing problem with applications crashing when they access the file system. When uploading images to my website using Chrome, when uploading images to Facebook, when importing or opening files in CorelPhotoPaint x7. The problem does not happen every time. I can upload 10 or more images before it happens. When it does, the application crashes when I click to select the file to open.

I am not a gamer, I got the machine for CAD work. I do not overclock and have installed very few programs.

Usually it crashes the application such as chrome, when I click to upload a picture. Usually the box to select a file doesn't even appear, but the last time it did. I'm not even sure how to search for pertinent information. Believe me I have tried for hours.

Yes it's the strangest thing. A brand new computer with completely up to date firmware and drivers. I really don't even know what to try to fix it. I don't know where I would be without the help of this great community.

I could try running a program to analyse some files or the operating system or something, but I don't know which one or even what it's called. I'm here because my old laptop has a 64gb ssd c:\ drive and is completely full. I've uninstalled everything from c:\ and have done all the steps to get space back, but it's impossible. The last time I tried to work on it I got 16 updates and another update on 5 consecutive restarts. So they are pushing W10 so hard I figured I would future proof my development machine, but I never imagined I would run into something like this. It's cost me plenty of time to retype and redo work after a crash. I worked on pc's in the 80's. I was there when the PC became the PCXT and I used the first version of windows. I think XP was the first stable operating system and W7 is the best. I've spent a lot of hours figuring out how to do things in W10 and there are some aspects I like, but if it's not stable... I dunno man

Hi Fungi, I'm Fungi, I will try to help you. Click on search windows and type in command. In the window type in scannow or something like that.

So I thought it would be helpful to add that file explorer has never crashed when opening it by itself. But programs that use it to access files will crash. Hey now, that's some really useful info right!

Why will NO ONE talk to me. Is this some sort of joke site. Where's the hidden camera?

I was told if I had not included a screen cap, and a very detailed well written explanation of the problem, you know like if I had just typed a run-on misspelled vague sentence, I still would not get a solution, but I would at least have people reply... I'm going to stop writing in this thread. If anyone stumbles on this and knows what is happening please post. I would really like to have a solid working computer.
