..And so on to the problem of installing Skype on Win10

    Ho hum....

Several issues here. Firstly, when I attempt to download Skype it downloads the installation file just fine. Opening that exe file everything seems good. Uncheck the bing and ie browser crap, accept the license and away we go...and go....and go....and... It never seems to end. It states that Skype is installing and may take a few minutes. Well those minutes roll on for most of the evening.

Secondly, attempting to install using the Skypesetupfull program: Win 10 won't even allow that to happen. I get a message about incompatibility or something.

I have read on various forums that a good many people have had Skype vs Win10 issues, but a clear, concise work around eludes me.

    Any takers?

Hi where did you download Skype from?
Have you tried uninstalling it and clearing it from all folders
Even the one on your C DRIVE under all users/ programs and programs 86
    Then do a restart
Then go to the store and search
    It will come up
    Get Skype
That is the way I had to do it on my friends laptop who was having trouble with it
Once installed you can sign in one of 2 ways
Either your Microsoft Account or get a new Skype Account

Uninstall your skype from Programs and Features.
I would recommend that you go online and download the desktop version of Skype.
That's what I did and I have no issue installing it.

Uninstalled Skype from the control panel. Still no joy. Interestingly, when I do a search of C drive it lists many entries containing the word Skype. I'm going to try and delete all of those and try again.

    ...later.....

No luck. I'm not the 'trusted installer' and I'm not ready to mess around with permissions. Well outside my ability and comfort zone. Off now to find an alternative to Skype. Well done Microsoft; another winner.
