I'm not a fan of the ui on that Calc especially the fact that you can't ever resize it and that in scientific mode it is ridiculously wide, but an ugly ui is better than having to wait for the metro app Calc to load fully and be nagged to give it a rating.
There are some third party calculators that are the same as the old calculator and you can find them via Google.. and they are free.
I find that this one works great:
Old Windows 7 Calculator for Windows 10
hth
Who said you can't resize it? Resizing seems to work fine for me. The smallest size is no bigger than the old calculator in older versions of windows.
Can someone tell me how to reduce the calculator screen if I can't access the top right hand corner (that has the prompts)? My prompts are hidden due to the size of the screen...so I can't reduce the size this way
Not only that, but you also can't paste equations with the equal sign, '=', at the end and have it automatically solve them like you could in the old version. (The new version tells you "Invalid Input".)
I *have* discovered that you can paste an equation into the Windows 10 task bar search with the equal sign at the end and Windows will solve it for you, which is pretty nifty to use in a pinch, but this still doesn't have the full copy, paste, and memory features of the old calculator alongside being able to paste in the equal sign, so Cortana's not a true workaround.
I'll have to use the aforementioned tool to revert back to the old calculator.
Thanks for the link to the old calculator, hate aps, hate app based windows really. Nice to have my little desktop calc back ).
