use coreldraw x5 and it just started crashing. It gives me the error message: CorelDRAW has stopped working. a program caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. As a result of this, I cannot open the original file i was working on, i have to work on the back up file, but it still crashes.

1. Open your backup file and re-save it as a different version of .cdr (there could have been a glitch when you saved the original)
2. Export the backup file to .cmx, then start a new drawing, import the .cmx then save it again under a new file name as a .cdr
3. Navigate through each object and remove any "grouped effects" or "transformations" etc. This may take quite a while depending on how many objects you have.
