    Apps not opening

I have several MS apps that will not open and are unavailable. I have been on the internet for 2 days now trying to fix it. I tried re-regisitering them through cmd and this is the what it tells me

    C:\Users\Wendy\Desktop>PowerShell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted -Command "& {$manifest = (Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.WindowsStore).InstallLocation + '\AppxManifest.xml' ; Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $manifest}"

Does anyone have any suggestions short of refreshing , I don't want to reinstall all my apps and programs. Thank you

    Hi, welcome to tenforums.

Assuming you're talking about universal apps, please have a look at this and confirm you've done all therein:
    Apps - Reinstall and Re-register in Windows 8 and 10 - Windows 10 Forums

    1. Have these apps ever been functional? If so, do you have any idea what could have led to them being non-functional?
    2. System Restore: Can you advise whether you have any system restore points prior to the problem occurring?
(Is system restore on?- it's off by default in Win 10 and may have been disabled during the November TH2 big update).
    3. Disk Imaging: Do you use disk imaging? (E.g. Aomei Backupper, Macrium Reflect (free).
(Everyone needs to- it means you can get your system up and running exactly as it was when you created the image, relatively stress-free, and have a full backup. Windows is, unfortunately, fragile). If so, do you have a relevant image?

    Thanks

These are apps that came with windows 10 i.e. Store, Calendar, Film & Tv , photos, They will not open,.I tried registering them and hence my error message I posted above. I do have a back up of my C drive but was hoping there was a simpler solution. My restore points all disappeared with the last update. Do not know if it happened with the last update or since the last update. Was away for awhile and when I came back they weren't working. I am the only one who uses this computer.

Hi, thanks. Ok. Let's assume not working after the November TH2 upgrade.

First, restore points prior to that will be lost because that upgrade is effectively a new Windows installation. (A Windows.old folder is created, so you can revert to the old build pre-TH2 in the same way as from, say, Win 10 to Win 8.1 within 30 days of upgrading).

Second, you're not the only one this has happened to apparently.

Third, file associations are set back to MS default (which probably has nothing to do with what you're seeing, but you may have noticed it).

There are other side effects- e.g. check system restore is still on (I found it off) and check Location is still working (e.g. via action centre, tile).

Have a look at this - it seems to cover the ground:
Windows 10 Default Apps Not Working After TH2 November Update? Here’s The Fix

However I'm also aware of a couple of threads on this, very similar, where there seemed to be no resolution..

So if this doesn't work, you might want to consider reverting to your previous build as I mentioned above, uninstalling any AV/Firewall and any other sort of security related program - anything that might conflict- and retrying the update.

Thanks nothing works ,so I bit the bullet and restored from my Oct. image backup. That went great and now I also have the Nov. update and all is working now. Going to do another image backup now that all is working good.
