Starting an app in Windows 10

    Hi,

I have Windows 10 home 64bit and I wanted an app (Kodi) to run at startup.
I placed a shortcut to it in the folder than opened when I types shell:startup.
The app didn't start, but it does appear in the task manager startup with status enabled and startup impact high.
I checked the system configuration and it's set to normal startup (not selective).

    Any idea?

Try testing the same process with, say, a shortcut to Wordpad. Shouldn't be a problem... but I've no idea what Kodi is.

Can you run Kodi normally? Do you need to run it in compatibility mode?

    Windows 10 problems

Users who have installed Windows 10 should make sure that they have the correct video card drivers installed. We see a lot of problems that have to do with this reported on the forum. It’s not something we as team can do anything about. Make sure you have updated all drivers according to the manufacturers website in case you are experiencing problems. Windows 10 has just been released and as such is still in active development. Another thing that might be helpful is installing the special Kodi version 15 DirectX11 build which is mentioned a bit further down.

Thank you. I tried adding notepad there, rebooted, and now both notepad and Kodi opens. So actually the problem does not exist.
    Should I delete this thread?
