I think that may be because CCleaner is no longer the outstanding program it once was.

Yes, I use the PortableApps.com implementation which gets rid of most of the nasties.

You can remove all the extras and restore it's functionality as a system cleaner only. It's been discussed at length in this forum many times. Here is mine:

I never rush to update it anyway.
