    Have been unable to "install" the latest versions for the last few releases and am clueless. What happens is the progress bar appears and quickly stops at what appears to be at 15%. Past installs typically took no more than a minute. I given it up to 10 minutes and no movement of progress bar. Task Manager does not display a 'not responding' message, but I end the task in any case.

    It sounds like your installed version somehow got corrupted. Since it looks like it's been a while since this started, I would uninstall CCleaner and get a fresh copy of the app from their site and re-install. Write down any settings you may not remember before your do.

    v5.77.8521 (04 Mar 2021)

    This version resolves a crash when cycling quickly through the Options menu. We will roll out this change to everyone over the coming days.

    Stability
    CCleaner no longer becomes unresponsive when cycling quickly through the Options menu

    (I had to d/l it , as existing CCleaner did not update mine.)
