I installed new Slim Build straight over the top of the old one. Updates are disabled including deleting the updater exe and scheduled task along with unchecking auto update in settings.

I meant that I already had Firefox startup cache included as per trimmed winapp2.ini

Well it's built into UVK (free) but I wouldn't recommend it except for advanced users as there's a lot of other functionality built in that could screw up your system if used incorrectly:
