I have that, too. Nothing CC added, they are installed/added by Edgium itself. I can't find the reference to it, but this release of CC or the previous was fixed to better pick up new Edgium/Chrome Edge plugins/extensions, and other things.

After the installer has completed, I disable and delete the 2 scheduled tasks that CCleaner always (re)creates then delete the CCleanerUpdate executable that it also (re)creates in Program Files then block the CCleaner and CCleaner64 executables from accessing the Internet with OneClickFirewall.

Most recently, I've also added 9 Avast and Piriform addresses to my Hosts file (thanks again, Callender) to prevent CCleaner from taking about 10 seconds to open every time you launch it if it is blocked with a firewall- been doing that now for the last 3 or 4 releases. As I've mentioned a while back, I don't know what it wants to access the Internet for every time you run it now, might have something to do with the recently added "improvements" as shown in the screenshots in the previous posts to mine.

I know it isn't (or shouldn't be) checking for updates because I always have that turned off in Options (and I always recheck it after every update).

Totally agree. I do that, too. but.......... this update on my machine was done via the "check for updates" lower right bottom of main page. It then did a pop-up in the middle of the screen, asking if I wanted to DL and install. I said "Okee Dokey". No further dialog, it just did it and came back up. This is the PAID version.

Now, given all that, it still "checked" the OFFERS boxes for me (how kind........ ).

I don't really mind if they add the obnoxious offers in there because they are not seen in daily use. I'd prefer being a paid customer to not have it at all, but buried on a back page is tolerable, barely.

What I DO mind is them adding this crap and checking it for me. I paid for the use of this product and it's features. Hawking 3rd party products is NOT a feature, it is an intrusion.

Well check your installed addons. FF> Tools> Addons. You should be able to see extensions that you've added and disable or remove them.

As for the firefox default ones I get rid of most of them but it's highly unlikely that Ccleaner will be able to remove all of them.

Chambers
Bing
eBay
Wikipedia
Web Compat Reporter


Re: Firefox Screenshots. It's there by default but I remove it. The other three you highlighted look like extensions that you have personally installed.
