I used CCleaner a long, long time ago. Uninstalled when all the issues came about. Since then I've been looking for an alternative. A number of posts here recommend Wise Disk Cleaner. I remember trying it a good while back and the reason I ended up uninstalling it as well was that every time you opened it up, you were presented with ads for their other products. I understand that that was just advertising . . . but that put me off. Has that changed? Does it just run clean, or are you still be presented with ads each start of the program?
I have Version 10.2.8.779 and I see no adds ...seems pretty clean to me.
    Wise Disk Cleaner.

    One of the better alternatives:

    Download HDCleaner - MajorGeeks

Includes some features found in Ccleaner Pro for free (monitoring - can be turned off)

Do not use the registry cleaner component.

Configure all settings under "Advanced Cleanup"

Some users complain that it's buggy and crashes. I've had the same issues in the past and if it crashes it's an indication of problems with state of the user's .NET Framework installations or VC++ Runtimes.

Having said that my "go to" cleanup program is still Ccleaner but it's tweaked to disable the crap and include extra cleanup components.

Thanks OldMike65 and Callender, I'll give both a try. The HDCleaner is by the same guy who makes RegCool which I already have installed and do use. Good thing is that I always try out all new software only after the daily MR image update. So, any issues, or not quite what I expected, and I'm back to where I was prior to the install with nothing more than a restart/restore image. That, and about 15 minutes of time. But seeing how we're all sheltering at home, time is one thing I have plenty of.

It's mostly ad free an occasional small one in the corner of the window. I run a portable version from PortableApps.com so don't know what the installer is like.

Wise Disk Cleaner has changed a lot since you were using it. No more in-your-face ads. Good choice, I use it.

Do you know how could it run immediately and clean without having to click Analyze first?
