Crap Cleaner 5.49 Release notes said:
For those still interested in using CCleaner....
I'm on the Portable version 5.49.6856 ( 64-bit) and just now started getting these annoying Black Friday ads popping up in the notification area every time I start CCleaner64.exe
The good news, after some Piriform forum googling, is I am able to remove them by creating an outbound firewall rule to block any outgoing traffic from the CCleaner.exe, and not the one I'm actually running, CCleaner64.exe.
Outbound firewall rule does not work...
Perhaps this has already been discussed here, but I didn't see it.
For those NOT interested in using CCleaner...
...well here's another reason to continue not to ;o)

5.50.6911 has been released:
- Added new menu: ‘Options’ > ‘Updates’
- Added new controls for automatic updates and update notifications
- Added and improved cleaning to the Common Language Runtime (CLR) folders
- Extended the cleaning of Windows error reporting temporary folders
- Fixed Firefox cleaning rules which were causing corrupted profiles for some users
- Minor bug fixes
- Small UI improvements
I installed the Slim version earlier today, still the annoying Black Friday popups are there. I'll put up with those for the time being as it does a good job in most cases.
