Try Revo Uninstaller. It gets down and dirty and looks under all the rugs!

dencal, if it uninstalled everything, do a good cleaning with Ccleaner(or whatever system all-in-one system cleaner you use) , and then see what is left, then delete any leftovers manually, but be sure after running the avastclear.exe uninstaller, to reboot first, so files and registry entries "in use" can be deleted from the uninstaller first.

You can also then take a look in Regedit Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE for Avast and delete it's key's.

In the end if you still don't feel comfortable that everything is gone, you can always reimage to your last system image(that's probably what I would have done):)

Have removed all traces using Everything....ones that could not be removed using Everything were removed by following their path.
If using Everything make sure you install the administration version.

I use Ultrasearch instead, but yeah searching using MFT is waaaay faster, and much more thorough, than searching using the Windows index.

Wow a lot of Traces of Avast to Remove even after running Avast clear, guess i'll work on this in safe mode later on or when time, can't remove some of the folders even in Admin account

Best way to remove the manifest section or just leave those? Started using Defender a few weeks ago, so Avast outta here, and don't think reinstalling, as been having Popup on startup to select Version, then it reinstalled itself with Ccleaner update as I missed unchecking it, already ran avast clear, ran ccleaner to remove all I could

Because Avast bought them think in July, and now it's trying to get folks to use Avast Antivirus it looks like, unforuately some of us don't want Avast, I've used it for 8+ years and gotten very intrusive lately, more popup ads, and various other issues.
