Keith, I don't need it, I always look at installers, It's their trickiness that I do not like now, and it will catch less advanced/cautious users. Especially when an antivirus hooks real deeeeep into a system, and sometimes only a reimage or a clean install for people that don't image, is the only way to fix things.
Anti-Viruses use rootkits so they can check & protect the system at boot(which is a good thing), and that, can screw things up when uninstalling, specially uninstalling without that vendors specialized uninstall tool, which most users don't even know the AV vendors have.
Unchecky is not an AV. It has a single purpose in life. To check a running installer and remove the PUP checkmarks. I've been using it for years.

That's not really my point, I have nothing against adware, I have even tried what was being advertised and like it(from another installer), it's that it is pre-selected.
Somebody's gotta pay the bills for all this freeware!

I didn't say unchecky was an AV, I said I don't need it.

The talk about an AV, was about the pre-selected Avast, who now owns Piriform, and is trying to foist their AV.

    Try installing with Power Shell.
You knoew what Steve, I didn't think of that.
    I have Chocolaty UI installed
And after taking a look Chocolatey has the update already for download too.
But like I said before, I notice things like this, I'm complaining that other, less cautious users will just blindly click install, and then *poof*, now we'll have to help someone here on the forum uninstall the mess

Cliff, it's about the same for most free software. The developers are going to get paid one way or the other. Like I used to tell my Daughter - There's no such thing as a free lunch.

The Pro Version of CCleaner DOES Not do this Cliff, only updates CCleaner.
Good to know the Free version trys to add Avast thou.
It does not cost anything to just untick the Avast install. This was the first install of CCleaner that had that, maybe the next one will install Avast without your knowledge. Didn't Avast buy out Pirform?

Look you two it's not the point, it's about being pre-selected, and I don't care what company does it.

By the way, I need to let Chocolatey & the installer through Controlled access(which is good, as it shows it's working)

Thank you Josey, you followed what I meant.

First they hid the customize install options, with teeny tiny text, who says they won't do it with the avast installer later?
